Intent
At Pennyhill Primary School, we are committed to delivering a Design and Technology curriculum that inspires curiosity, imagination, and creativity. We aim to foster enjoyment, purpose, and pride in pupils as they develop their ideas. Children are encouraged to consider the needs of a target audience, understand the purpose of different products, and make informed choices about tools, materials, and techniques. They also explore how design influences the way we live and work in the wider world.
Our Design and Technology curriculum enables pupils to investigate how things function and to communicate their ideas using a range of media. Through carefully structured teaching, children learn to plan, reflect on, and critically evaluate their own work and the work of others, helping them to develop both their technical vocabulary and their confidence as young designers.
