Intent
At Pennyhill Primary School, we are committed to delivering a Music curriculum that offers pupils rich opportunities to play instruments, sing, listen and appraise, compose, read and write music, and perform. We believe that music can spark imagination, ignite lifelong passion, and help children develop valuable skills that support them in reaching their full potential.
We recognise that music plays an important role in building confidence and self‑esteem, helping children grow into independent and assured individuals ready for future pathways. Through musical exploration, pupils develop creativity, critical thinking, and enhanced cognitive skills, all of which contribute positively to their wider academic achievement.
