The Governors are strategic leaders and have a vital role to play in making sure every child gets the best possible education. Their purpose is to conduct the school with a view to promoting high standards of educational achievement.
Governing bodies have three core strategic functions:
Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff;
Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.
At Pennyhill our Governing Body consists of 12 Governors. These are made up of 1 x Headteacher, 2 x Parent, 6 x Co-opted, 1 x Staff, 1 x Local Authority, 1 x Associate Governor. The Associate Governor does not hold any voting rights.
